NEW ! Artist Residency Opportunity at Squirrel Haus Arts

Squirrel Haus Arts in the Longfellow neighborhood of South Minneapolis would like to offer a studio space for an artist for 3 months. A 16 x 17 foot studio with sink, white walls and a $1000 stipend. Accepted applicants will have 24 hour access to a working space on the second floor of Squirrel Haus Arts, 3450 Snelling Ave. Minneapolis, MN 55406. Please note there is no elevator. 

Applications to participate in the 3 month residency: 

April, May, June, 2021      
July, August, September, 2021
October, November, December, 2021
January February, March, 2022

We are accepting applications for the April, May, June slot. Deadline March 15.

Applicants must not currently be attending any type of school e.g. High School, College, or University. This is not a live-work space. The residency is for studio space only. A solo show will be given to the resident after they have fulfilled the 3 months residency in the gallery at Squirrel Haus Arts. This artist will receive a reception and promotion of their event. 

Rules for Applicants:

One paragraph essay on how the studio space will enhance your art practice
Preference given to those living in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
3-5 jpeg photos of your current work 
All ages, races, genders, LGBTQ, BIPOC, may equally apply
You will be asked to have a solo show in the Squirrel Haus gallery. or provide another way of providing the community (a zine, a video) with your ideas and conclusions at the end of the residency

Deadline March 15, 2021. Reviews will take place late March. Applicants will be notified by March 24.
